Power Packed Performance

Japan-based Komatsu continues to reign the construction and mining sector with its wide range of top-standard machinery
and equipment. This reach is further extended in the UAE and the Middle East, thanks to the intricate distribution network
established by Galadari Trucks and Heavy Equipment (GTHE).

“GTHE currently holds the number one spot in market share at 52 per cent; a rank we have secured for over six years. We have worked
very hard to achieve it, and look forward to increasing the gap between us and the competitors, to remain the top provider for
our customers and help them secure projects in the right time and manner,” said Samer Khalid, CEO -Heavy Equipment Division. Komatsu boasts of a strong and varied portfolio of trucks, dumpers, excavators, loaders, bulldozers, etc., thus catering to diverse customer requirements and demand. “Delivery time for Komatsu machines is also another positive aspect. They can provide any required machine within two to three months, in case it is not a fast-moving vehicle,” Khalid added.
For fast-moving ones, Komatsu has a well-stocked facility in Jebel Ali that provides immediate delivery to anywhere in the Gulf
through Komatsu Middle East’s dealer network reservation system. “Our relationship with Komatsu has been going strong for the last 45 years. Every year, we look forward to enhancing this business connection through our shareholders, chairman and board of directors, and contribute towards their goal to achieve an extensive global market share,” he said.

The new 46,298-sqm Komatsu facility is the first-of-its-kind in the Middle East that features a dedicated training and a demonstration arena. The venue gives customers a preview of Komatsu’s specialities and showcases a variety of machinery to secure infrastructure, construction and development needs. “The facility acts as a showroom to display Komatsu’s high-quality machinery and demonstrate their durability to meet the regional customers’ demands, which allows them to execute their work and deliver high standard performance,” said Khalid. The Jebel Ali facility also features a workshop where experts take part in training and mechanics, alongside a heavy equipment arena where Komatsu can demonstrate operations of all types of machines and acquaint customers with them.

“The new Komatsu facility in Jebel Ali aids better communication, which allows the dealers to support their customers in a more
efficient way,” he added. According to Khalid, Komatsu also caters to the supply of operating parts in the Middle East, boasting almost 90 per cent availability to help customers minimise downtime, boost efficiency of machinery and improve productivity.

“With the new gensets powered by KOMATSU engines, we expect high sales potential in this area as we note the growing demand in the power sector. We aim to slowly penetrate this market, with set objectives and vision. GTHE is currently working closely with Komatsu to increase the supply of engines to build gensets and make them available to our customers in the region. We will continue to add a lot of franchisees to the GTHE network in order to be the number one provider for all types of heavy machinery and equipment,” concluded Khalid.
