Galadari Engineering Works eyes India expansion
In November 2019, GEW (India) Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of the Dubai-based Galadari Engineering Works (GEW), set up a Dh40 million heavy steel structure manufacturing plant in the heart of the Sikandrabad industrial belt in India’s Uttar Pradesh. Part of the UAE’s diversified group Galadari Brothers (GB), the GEW plant was inaugurated by the Group’s Director Mohammed Galadari and Director and Group CEO Mohamed Yahya Kazi in the presence of other senior management members and the core engineering team.
With a built-up area of 10,000 sqm and located in a prime 30,000 sqm plot, the state-of-the-art plant is expected to generate employment for 800-1,000 skilled and semi-skilled youth, thus boosting the local economy. With the established state-of-the-art fabrication plant powered by latest technologies and machinery to cater to the requirements of steel bridges, heavy industrial fabrication, etc., aims to significantly enhance its production capacity from the current level of 15,000 tonnes per annum of fabricated steel structure to 20,000 tonnes per annum, in a phased manner, by 2021.

“It had been a long-cherished dream of our Group’s founders to establish a base in India, and with this plant, we have fulfilled their vision,” said Mohamed Yahya Kazi, Director and Group CEO, Galadari Brothers. “This plant is not only pivotal for our India plans but also imperative given the demand we have been witnessing ever since we delivered our first sub-contracted project from the main contractor of Delhi Metro.”
Galadari Engineering has one of the largest installed capacities in the UAE for undertaking large-scale steel construction works and the prestigious company has been associated with landmark international projects including the Zabeel Retail Bridge, the Dubai Metro, Atlantis-The Palm Dubai, Sharjah Expo Centre, Box Park, and Al Sufouh Tram-Dubai, among several others.
